Great New Listens, June 2021

Welcome to this month’s Great New Listens with Audrey!

Lately, I’ve been listening to a band called Måneskin from Rome, Italy. They sing in Italian and English. The band chose its name Måneskin, which is Danish for “moonlight” so they could enter a local music contest in 2016.

The members met in high school and began playing on the street in 2016 as buskers. Hey! Busking is how I started performing as well! I’ve busked all over the U.S. – Colorado, Ohio, Maine, California, and Key West, Florida – one of my favorites! Busking is a great way to practice performing and meet new people.

I love Måneskin’s music because, like mine, it draws influences from classic hard rock bands like Led Zeppelin, from pop artists like Harry Styles, and from eclectic musicians like David Bowie.

Check out Måneskin on Spotify! I hope you love their sound as much as I do!
